Ideas for Teaching about the Ministry of the Holy Spirit

  1. Ask often, “How does that relate to being filled with the Spirit?”
  2. Keep repeating, “It all boils down to…” and hold up the Holy Spirit booklet in your small groups for personal appointments.
  3. Ask students during your sharing time in your small group if someone would like to share an experience of spiritual breathing from their week.
  4. Ask on a personal appointment, or in your small group for an example of one time when they responded to a situation or person filled with the Spirit, and one time when they didn’t respond filled with the Spirit, Review Spiritual breathing.
  5. Give “My Heart Christ’s Home” to people after Discovery Group #3. Discuss it for a few minutes in your following Discovery Group. (Note: If you are not utilizing the Discovery Group for your Intro Bible Study then you can choose to give it to them at any time and have a discussion on it.)
  6. Encourage for personal Bible Study: Transferable Concepts 2, 3, 4 - 10 Steps to Christian Maturity
  7. Ask, “what has God been teaching you in regard to the Spirit-filled life?”
  8. Relate the Spirit filled life to what is happening in your life as you talk to a student.
  9. Recommend “The Holy Spirit: the Key to Supernatural Living” or “The Secret” books by Bill Bright.
  10. Personally go through the Holy Spirit booklet with each person new to your movement.
  11. Use other words or phrases to talk about or describe the Spirit-filled life.
    • “Delight yourself in the Lord…”
    • “Putting God first in your life…”
    • “Christ-centered life…”
    • “Self centered attitude..”
  12. Brainstorm with other students on more ways to communicate the Spirit-filled life.
  13. As a group, each keep a “Spirit-filled Journal” for a month and keep sharing what you are learning.
  14. Ask them how to communicate the Spirit-filled life, first by sharing the booklet, then from God’s Word.
  15. Watch for changes in their lives and encourage them in it, pointing out that it’s the working part of God’s spirit.
